Brian's Brew

Brian's Brew

Ireland's microbrewers celebrated a drastic cut in excess duty as a direct result of the then Minister for Finance Brian Cowen T.D. changing legislation in his 2004 budget.

To celebrate, the Irish craft brewers raised a glass of their freshly brewed "Brian's Brew." The beer is the world's first lager to be named after a Minister for Finance and is made from the freshest and crispest of Co Offaly water.
